Simplon Pass (CH) & Pallanza (IT)
The elegant town of Pallanza looks out over Lake Maggiore from its privileged situation on the Borromean Gulf. Pallanza is one of the 2 main centers of the municipality of Verbania. The Roman origins of the town are shown by a marble votive cippus from the 1st century AD, kept in the Church of Santo Stefano; today Pallanza is a renowned tourist resort with a rich heritage of hotels, villas and parks.






Locarno
The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival held every August in Locarno. Founded in 1946, it is one of the longest-running film festivals, and is also known for being a prestigious platform for art house films. The festival screens films in various competitive and non-competitive sections, including feature-length narrative and documentary, short, avant-garde, and retrospective programs. The Piazza Grande section is held in one of the world's largest open-air screening venues, seating 8,000 spectators.







Brione Verzasca Valley
Clearwater river leading directly into the Contra Dam. Nothing rings a bell? The Contra Dam is a concrete slender arch dam with a height of 220m and crest length of 380 m but this is not why you know about it isn't it? Yes, of course, this is correct it is the dam used in the opening scene of the 1995 movie where 007 jumps in the abyss. The river furthermore lead to the lake Maggiore.









Lugano, Ticino
